And so it begins…our 2020 Football Season AND the Battle of the Bridge! Our season opener will be a White Out so make sure to wear your white! We were unable to order Beat Nease shirts this year due to Covid-19 and the uncertainty of the season, but we will wear white and show our Shark Spirit with the White Out!

Team Meal – PV Shack
A BIG Thanks to our generous sponsor, PV Shack! Thanks for feeding our Sharks by providing the pre-game meal for our first game vs Nease! Please support our sponsors who support our team! You can follow PV Shack on Facebook and Instagram to see where the truck is @pvshack

It’s Here! The way for EVERYONE to watch the game from the comfort of your own home! Please visit NFHS Network to subscribe. More info will be coming from our Athletic Department this week!

We still have around 20 players that haven’t paid their team Activities Fee. Please see below “Volunteering During the 2020 Season.” Please pay your fee ASAP. This fee is required for your son to play football. The Team Activities Fee of $200.00 per player covers a variety of items including shirts for workouts and volunteer activities, snacks and any team meal not covered under our sponsored meals, uniform updates, equipment, team-building activities throughout the season and other items as necessary to ensure our coaches are able to run a successful football program. Each Player is responsible for the $200 Team Activities Fee. Go here to pay Team Activities Fee

As we all deal with the changes that COVID-19 has on our daily lives, Covid-19 is of course impacting every aspect of our Football Program. We’ve had to make a lot of adjustments to the program and how we operate. With the loss of major sponsors, restrictions on the amount of spectators allowed in the stands (450 PV capacity), and running on skeleton staff of volunteers at games in an effort to allow more spectators, the Football Board voted and a decision was made that all volunteers will only be allowed to sign up to volunteer and enter the stadium once their TEAM ACTIVITIES FEE has been paid. All volunteers that sign up on the 2020 PV Sharks Football Volunteer Sign Up will need to be approved before their names are submitted to the Athletic Director prior to game day. Please ensure your TEAM ACTIVITIES FEE is paid. Thank you for your support of our PV Sharks Football Team!

Ponte Vedra High School Boosters
Dear Booster Family and Future Boosters,

The Ponte Vedra Sharks General Booster Club would like to thank you for your patience regarding the delay of the booster club membership. As you know, we needed to wait and hear from the county and athletic department regarding the official fall plan before we rolled out the booster program. And please know that things can and may change midseason; so we will continue to work with the athletic department to inform you of any changes in a timely manner. General Booster still needs and appreciates the amazing parent support we have always had, even during this uncertain year. This is a crazy year for all of us, but we are excited for the Sharks’ fall season!

Booster membership will look and feel different this year. However, the Booster mission has not changed: To lend moral, physical and financial support to all athletic programs and events of Ponte Vedra High School. We plan to go back to our regular booster levels next year; this is just a temporary plan while we are facing this virus.

As we created our plan, we first and foremost, wanted to keep costs to a minimum for everyone; we are sensitive to all members’ financial situations. We were also constrained by certain county rules, particularly the 30% capacity in the stadium and gym, which requires the counting of all spectators. And since we are unsure of the future, we wanted to take it week by week. Here is the plan for the 2020-2021 Booster Program and the changes will you will see:

You will sign up and pay for your booster membership online at Booster Membership under the registration tab. No checks will be taken this year.

At this time, only families of fall sports are allowed to sign up for boosters. Please wait until your season before you sign up. If you have a child(s) in both the fall and another season, you may document the percentage breakdown in the online portal.

There will not be levels of booster membership this year. Instead, you will pick your booster membership based on the sport of your athlete. Each package has a different amount based on the needs of the individual sport (coaches and team booster boards determined these amounts).

There will NOT be booster cards allowing entry into the home athletic events this year due to the need to track the number of entrants. You will be required to pay for your tickets for ALL games through Go Fan based on the athletic department parameters. You do NOT have to be a booster member to purchase tickets.

If you do NOT have a child who is part of varsity football, varsity cheer, dance or band, you will NOT be able to sign up for the stadium package since there is no guarantee you will have access to the football games.

If you DO have a student who is part of varsity football, varsity cheer, dance or band (Stadium Package):

According to the athletic department, you will have the opportunity to PURCHASE 2 tickets to each HOME game. You don’t have to be a booster member to have the priority of getting your tickets. Details on purchasing your tickets will be coming in the near future through the athletic department.

You will receive a parking pass for HOME games in the stadium lot. We will get this pass to you before the first home game.
If you have a senior athlete, you will receive assigned seats in the chair backs for all home games. You still need to purchase tickets for every game. These seatbacks don’t include the purchase of your tickets. We will send out the assignments before the first home game. If there are extra chair backs after September 10th, we will hold a lottery and contact you with your seats assignments.

$75 of each package will go back to General Boosters. These funds will continue to provide the overall framework for each booster club by providing tax-exempt status for the non-profit, corporate registration tax accounting, insurance, annual field maintenance, IRS accountability, and capital improvements. Your support, through membership and other fundraising activities of the PV Sharks Booster Club, is essential to keeping our athletes on the field/court. We encourage you to join the booster club and become part of the support behind our young athletes.

We also would like to thank all of our sponsors this year for their continued support during this unprecedented time: Publix, Greenwise, Lazzara Orthodontics, Intrepid Capital, Contoura Facial Plastic Surgery, Oceanstate Air Conditioning and Heating, Daily’s, Cora, PDQ, Southeast Orthopedics, Oceanside Cleaners, Craig Koproski of First Trust.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Once again, thank you for your support of PVHS Athletics and Student-Athletes.

Go Sharks!
Molly James
